Back in 1987, Humayun Ahmed bought 40 Bigha estate and build a place to have Tranquility. He named the place after his Son Nuhash Humayun. Since then this place in Gazipur, on the outskirts of Dhaka city became a favorite for him. Day by day, he uses this 14 Acre of land to make everything he likes to do. after a few years, it becomes a tourist attraction. The main purpose was to have a relaxing time away from hustle and bustle of a busy life in Dhaka city. Keeping that in mind, the Nuhash Polli was constructed. After that, he keeps adding new things, and new establishments implement new ideas, equipping new thoughts inside the estate.
In fact, away from the cacophony of the bustling Dhaka life, Nuhash Polli became a piece of heaven for the writer-director Humayun Ahmed. After his sad demise, This place becomes a tourist spot for the people who love to spend one day in nature and other amenities with their friends & family.
How to go to Nuhash Polli: It is situated in a village name Pirujali. It is only 25 km away from Gazipur main city. From Dhaka, anyone can go to Gazipur Sadar by bus or any other private transport. After getting down from Bus, there is Tempo or a local Bus or Auto rickshaw available at the stand. Just ask them to go to Nuhash Polli. It would cost around 50 takas. They will take you all the way to Pirujali village. You will see a huge gate with a nameplate on top “Nuhash Polli”.
